It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Bailey Mathis, a vibrant and beloved member of the Omaha community, who left us peacefully at her home on September 17, 2025. Bailey was a bright light to all who knew her, and her loss leaves a profound void in the lives of her family, friends, and everyone she touched.

Bailey was born on April 29, 1997, in West Point, Nebraska, to her mother, Brenda Mathis. From a young age, Bailey demonstrated a lively spirit and a caring heart. She attended Wisner-Pilger Schools, where she graduated in 2015. During her high school years, Bailey was actively involved in numerous activities, including being a dedicated member of the dance and cheer teams. She loved participating in sports and cherished the friendships she formed during those years, often spending time with her friends, whom she truly loved and valued.

After graduating from high school, Bailey pursued her passion for healthcare by attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She focused her studies on the medical field, driven by her desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Bailey’s dedication and compassion led her to begin her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked tirelessly at Methodist Hospital, where she gained experience in several departments, always eager to grow and learn. Her dream was to work in pediatric healthcare, and she was fortunate to achieve her goal by working at Children’s Hospital in the Hematology and Oncology Departments. Bailey’s compassion, empathy, and gentle spirit made her a favorite among her colleagues and patients alike.

Bailey lived a very active and social lifestyle. She loved attending Husker football games, cheering on her favorite team with enthusiasm. She enjoyed going to concerts, dancing, singing karaoke, and spending time with her friends and family. Her infectious laughter and zest for life brought joy to everyone around her. Bailey’s friends and loved ones remember her as a fun, caring, and genuine person who always put others first.

She is survived by her mother, Brenda Mathis; her sisters, Hayden and Jocelyn; her brothers, Jonathan, Jordan, and Jace; her grandparents, Patty and Allen Hanson, along with Doug Chudomelka; extended family members, countless friends, and her beloved fur-baby, Poppy, who was her loyal companion and source of comfort.

Funeral services are currently pending, and arrangements will be announced soon. Bailey’s family invites all who knew her to celebrate her life and the incredible person she was.

Bailey Mathis’s spirit, kindness, and love will forever be cherished by those she left behind. She will be deeply missed but always remembered with love and admiration.
